Campaigning for South West England and Gibraltar

A record of action, and a promise of more

  1. South West mapGraham has visited projects across the South West which have had EU funding. He continues to fight for a better deal for the region. Here, Graham and Kay Barnard are visiting the Falmouth Dock Expansion.
     
  2. In a region with a huge farming community, the Liberal Democrats are the only party with a farmer on their list for the upcoming Euro-elections. If elected Kay Barnard plans to work with other Lib Dem MEPs to reform the CAP and get a fair deal for farmers in the South West
    .
  3. Graham has brought Chinese teachers to schools across the South West through the Broadening Horizons scheme. The scheme is under threat from the Labour government but Graham is fighting to save it.

 

Campaigning on crime

Graham steered through Parliament the European Arrest Warrant which means criminals can no longer hide from the law by moving abroad. The Conservatives voted against this.

Graham believes in leading by example. Here, Graham is receiving a certificate from CO2Balance, saying his election campaign for the 2009 Euro election will be Carbon Neutral.

At a Question Time event in with local MP’s, Councillors and Paddy Ashdown, Graham highlighted how the new EU funding round is set to create 4,000 new jobs in the region.
